Dining Table for the Embassy of Mexico

Glass top table commissioned by the Embassy of MexicoGlass top table commissioned by the Embassy of MexicoAn Embassy in Canberra requested a glass top table to seat six. I sketched a concept and explored the construction possibilities and intricacies with artist/sculptor, Mathew Harding and with furniture designer and former Head of the Wood Section at the Canberra School of Art, George Ingham.

Computer modelling by Phil MacLaren facilitated final details with the proposed maker, Myles Gostelow, and wood turner, Jim Homann. A consensus formed. Conferences with Canberra designer/makers Jono Everett, Scott Mitchell and Evan Dunstone further confirmed the direction the design was taking.

The project was accepted. Two tables would be made. One for the client, one for the Gallery.
