MATTHEW ABLITT is a young printmaker who has recently made Australia his permanent home. He gained his fine arts honours degree in London, UK and in 1998 won two prizes in the National Print Exhibition in that city. He has exhibited in Darwin, Melbourne and Sydney and well as serving residencies in a number of printing studios in the United Kingdom and Darwin, and is currently printing for the prestigous Griffith Studios in Sydney.

TESS BARKER recently completed a double degree in Teaching and Fine Art (Honours) at the University of Newcastle. She is a printmaker working in linocut and is drawn towards the depiction of Australian flora and fauna. She had the opportunity to document the beauty of the Ku-ring-gai National Park while growing up in the Pittwater area of Sydney. Tess has worked and exhibited in galleries in Newcastle and Sydney and is currently a customer service representative for Bungendore Wood Works Gallery.

PAUL KOWALSKI is a Canberra born photographer specialising in the Australian landscape. Since 2006 he has been working professionally and works in the panoramic format using a special wide-format camera to capture an extensive range of images from locations that he describes as somewhat remote. In this approach he is striving to ensure that his portfolio displays a unique sensitivity to and reverence for the equally unique Australian landscape.

ALISON MACKAY lives and works in the Jervis Bay area on the NSW south coast as a painter, photographer and writer. Her main artistic focus is on still life painting in oils and acrylics, and in recent years has expanded her art practice to include printmaking working with etchings, aquatints and linocuts. Since 2000 she has regularly been a finalist and winner in prize and group exhibitions around Australia, and has presented solo exhibitions in Sydney, the Shoalhaven City Arts Centre and Jervis Bay.

TANYA STUBBLES is a construction artist working with found materials in an assemblage and painting context. She has exhibited in Sydney, Melbourne, Alice Springs, China and in her local Illawarra (South Coast NSW) region. She was a finalist in the 2008 Wynne Prize at the Art Gallery of NSW and has been short listed in numerous prestigious prizes. Over the past four years Tanya has experienced a rapid expansion and growth of the success of her work.

When Bungendore Wood Works Gallery opened its new, and current, Gallery complex in 1994 directly opposite the original site, the operating space for the Gallery increased by about 400 percent. Suddenly there was more gallery space than there were objects to fill it. This, combined with the availability of a significant amount of wall space, saw the Gallery’s beginnings as a presenter of fine visual arts.

The walls and panels surrounding the woodwork specific floor spaces were ideal areas for the exhibition of paintings, prints and other media of the visual arts. One of the first artists to display and sell her work here was Sydney printmaker and painter Pamela Griffith, and she continues as one of the major artists exhibiting at the Gallery.

Over the past twelve years the Gallery steadily raised its profile as a presenter of fine arts with significant Australian artists such as Blake and Wynne Prize winning painter David Voigt, prolific award winning master impressionist Ken Knight, oil painter Maynard Waters and a host of Canberra and NSW regional artists as well as many from Sydney and interstate whose works are regularly on display.

In January 2006 the Gallery presented a major exhibition of Indigenous Australian Desert Art from artists such as Kathleen Petyarre, Minnie Pwerle, Barbara Weir and George Ward Tjungurrayi, sealing the credibility of the Gallery in presenting fine arts to its 120,000 annual visitors.

Approaches from artists wanting to exhibit and sell their work in the Gallery are numerous and regular. The ability to present the work of many of these artists is now limited by the amount of wall-space on offer.

NEW – an exhibition of 5 artists new to the Gallery, is the first time that a number of individual artists approaching the Gallery have been invited to take part in a group exhibition in the Gallery’s Octagon ArtSpace. This exhibition specific space has been described by many artists as one of the finest in the country.

NEW presents the work of printmakers Matthew Ablitt and Tess Barker, photographer Paul Kowalski, painter Alison McKay and construction artist Tanya Stubbles in a mixed media group exhibition from April 24.

The exhibition affords the participating artists, and the Gallery, the chance to assess the viability of their work in the Bungendore Wood Works Gallery context and a wider commercial gallery marketplace. Approximately 10,000 visitors to the Gallery over the run of this exhibition will be able to view the works on offer. This provides a statistic rarely matched by Australian commercial galleries.

AN EVENING WITH RICHARD MORECROFT

RICHARD MORECROFT has been one of Australia's most visible personalities appearing as the ABC Televisions News Presenter for 25 years. Since retiring from that role Richard has pursued other Media interests including Television Documentaries and Corporate media events. His main passion is Photography and he presents an amazing approach to the unique Australian Landscape.
Richard will be presenting a talk on his life in the Media and in the Arts through his photography at Cafe Woodworks on Saturday 24th April. Following the talk Chefs Eric and Ric will present a three course dinner (see menu below)

In January 2006 the Gallery presented a major exhibition of Indigenous Australian Desert Art from artists such as Kathleen Petyarre, Minnie Pwerle, Barbara Weir and George Ward Tjungurrayi, sealing the credibility of the Gallery in presenting fine arts to its 120,000 annual visitors.

Approaches from artists wanting to exhibit and sell their work in the Gallery are numerous and regular. The ability to present the work of many of these artists is now limited by the amount of wall-space on offer.

MATTHEW ABLITT is a young printmaker who has recently made Australia his permanent home. He gained his fine arts honours degree in London, UK and in 1998 won two prizes in the National Print Exhibition in that city. He has exhibited in Darwin, Melbourne and Sydney and well as serving residencies in a number of printing studios in the United Kingdom and Darwin, and is currently printing for the prestigous Griffith Studios in Sydney.

TESS BARKER recently completed a double degree in Teaching and Fine Art (Honours) at the University of Newcastle. She is a printmaker working in linocut and is drawn towards the depiction of Australian flora and fauna. She had the opportunity to document the beauty of the Ku-ring-gai National Park while growing up in the Pittwater area of Sydney. Tess has worked and exhibited in galleries in Newcastle and Sydney and is currently a customer service representative for Bungendore Wood Works Gallery.

PAUL KOWALSKI is a Canberra born photographer specialising in the Australian landscape. Since 2006 he has been working professionally and works in the panoramic format using a special wide-format camera to capture an extensive range of images from locations that he describes as somewhat remote. In this approach he is striving to ensure that his portfolio displays a unique sensitivity to and reverence for the equally unique Australian landscape.

ALISON MACKAY lives and works in the Jervis Bay area on the NSW south coast as a painter, photographer and writer. Her main artistic focus is on still life painting in oils and acrylics, and in recent years has expanded her art practice to include printmaking working with etchings, aquatints and linocuts. Since 2000 she has regularly been a finalist and winner in prize and group exhibitions around Australia, and has presented solo exhibitions in Sydney, the Shoalhaven City Arts Centre and Jervis Bay.

TANYA STUBBLES is a construction artist working with found materials in an assemblage and painting context. She has exhibited in Sydney, Melbourne, Alice Springs, China and in her local Illawarra (South Coast NSW) region. She was a finalist in the 2008 Wynne Prize at the Art Gallery of NSW and has been short listed in numerous prestigious prizes. Over the past four years Tanya has experienced a rapid expansion and growth of the success of her work.

When Bungendore Wood Works Gallery opened its new, and current, Gallery complex in 1994 directly opposite the original site, the operating space for the Gallery increased by about 400 percent. Suddenly there was more gallery space than there were objects to fill it. This, combined with the availability of a significant amount of wall space, saw the Gallery’s beginnings as a presenter of fine visual arts.

The walls and panels surrounding the woodwork specific floor spaces were ideal areas for the exhibition of paintings, prints and other media of the visual arts. One of the first artists to display and sell her work here was Sydney printmaker and painter Pamela Griffith, and she continues as one of the major artists exhibiting at the Gallery.

Over the past twelve years the Gallery steadily raised its profile as a presenter of fine arts with significant Australian artists such as Blake and Wynne Prize winning painter David Voigt, prolific award winning master impressionist Ken Knight, oil painter Maynard Waters and a host of Canberra and NSW regional artists as well as many from Sydney and interstate whose works are regularly on display.

In January 2006 the Gallery presented a major exhibition of Indigenous Australian Desert Art from artists such as Kathleen Petyarre, Minnie Pwerle, Barbara Weir and George Ward Tjungurrayi, sealing the credibility of the Gallery in presenting fine arts to its 120,000 annual visitors.

Approaches from artists wanting to exhibit and sell their work in the Gallery are numerous and regular. The ability to present the work of many of these artists is now limited by the amount of wall-space on offer.

NEW – an exhibition of 5 artists new to the Gallery, is the first time that a number of individual artists approaching the Gallery have been invited to take part in a group exhibition in the Gallery’s Octagon ArtSpace. This exhibition specific space has been described by many artists as one of the finest in the country.

NEW presents the work of printmakers Matthew Ablitt and Tess Barker, photographer Paul Kowalski, painter Alison McKay and construction artist Tanya Stubbles in a mixed media group exhibition from April 24.

The exhibition affords the participating artists, and the Gallery, the chance to assess the viability of their work in the Bungendore Wood Works Gallery context and a wider commercial gallery marketplace. Approximately 10,000 visitors to the Gallery over the run of this exhibition will be able to view the works on offer. This provides a statistic rarely matched by Australian commercial galleries.

MATTHEW ABLITT is a young printmaker who has recently made Australia his permanent home. He gained his fine arts honours degree in London, UK and in 1998 won two prizes in the National Print Exhibition in that city. He has exhibited in Darwin, Melbourne and Sydney and well as serving residencies in a number of printing studios in the United Kingdom and Darwin, and is currently printing for the prestigous Griffith Studios in Sydney.

TESS BARKER recently completed a double degree in Teaching and Fine Art (Honours) at the University of Newcastle. She is a printmaker working in linocut and is drawn towards the depiction of Australian flora and fauna. She had the opportunity to document the beauty of the Ku-ring-gai National Park while growing up in the Pittwater area of Sydney. Tess has worked and exhibited in galleries in Newcastle and Sydney and is currently a customer service representative for Bungendore Wood Works Gallery.

PAUL KOWALSKI is a Canberra born photographer specialising in the Australian landscape. Since 2006 he has been working professionally and works in the panoramic format using a special wide-format camera to capture an extensive range of images from locations that he describes as somewhat remote. In this approach he is striving to ensure that his portfolio displays a unique sensitivity to and reverence for the equally unique Australian landscape.

ALISON MACKAY lives and works in the Jervis Bay area on the NSW south coast as a painter, photographer and writer. Her main artistic focus is on still life painting in oils and acrylics, and in recent years has expanded her art practice to include printmaking working with etchings, aquatints and linocuts. Since 2000 she has regularly been a finalist and winner in prize and group exhibitions around Australia, and has presented solo exhibitions in Sydney, the Shoalhaven City Arts Centre and Jervis Bay.

TANYA STUBBLES is a construction artist working with found materials in an assemblage and painting context. She has exhibited in Sydney, Melbourne, Alice Springs, China and in her local Illawarra (South Coast NSW) region. She was a finalist in the 2008 Wynne Prize at the Art Gallery of NSW and has been short listed in numerous prestigious prizes. Over the past four years Tanya has experienced a rapid expansion and growth of the success of her work.

When Bungendore Wood Works Gallery opened its new, and current, Gallery complex in 1994 directly opposite the original site, the operating space for the Gallery increased by about 400 percent. Suddenly there was more gallery space than there were objects to fill it. This, combined with the availability of a significant amount of wall space, saw the Gallery’s beginnings as a presenter of fine visual arts.

The walls and panels surrounding the woodwork specific floor spaces were ideal areas for the exhibition of paintings, prints and other media of the visual arts. One of the first artists to display and sell her work here was Sydney printmaker and painter Pamela Griffith, and she continues as one of the major artists exhibiting at the Gallery.

Over the past twelve years the Gallery steadily raised its profile as a presenter of fine arts with significant Australian artists such as Blake and Wynne Prize winning painter David Voigt, prolific award winning master impressionist Ken Knight, oil painter Maynard Waters and a host of Canberra and NSW regional artists as well as many from Sydney and interstate whose works are regularly on display.

In January 2006 the Gallery presented a major exhibition of Indigenous Australian Desert Art from artists such as Kathleen Petyarre, Minnie Pwerle, Barbara Weir and George Ward Tjungurrayi, sealing the credibility of the Gallery in presenting fine arts to its 120,000 annual visitors.

Approaches from artists wanting to exhibit and sell their work in the Gallery are numerous and regular. The ability to present the work of many of these artists is now limited by the amount of wall-space on offer.

NEW – an exhibition of 5 artists new to the Gallery, is the first time that a number of individual artists approaching the Gallery have been invited to take part in a group exhibition in the Gallery’s Octagon ArtSpace. This exhibition specific space has been described by many artists as one of the finest in the country.

NEW presents the work of printmakers Matthew Ablitt and Tess Barker, photographer Paul Kowalski, painter Alison McKay and construction artist Tanya Stubbles in a mixed media group exhibition from April 24.

The exhibition affords the participating artists, and the Gallery, the chance to assess the viability of their work in the Bungendore Wood Works Gallery context and a wider commercial gallery marketplace. Approximately 10,000 visitors to the Gallery over the run of this exhibition will be able to view the works on offer. This provides a statistic rarely matched by Australian commercial galleries.

PAUL KOWALSKI is a Canberra born photographer specialising in the Australian landscape. Since 2006 he has been working professionally and works in the panoramic format using a special wide-format camera to capture an extensive range of images from locations that he describes as somewhat remote. ALISON MACKAY lives and works in the Jervis Bay area on the NSW south coast as a painter, photographer and writer. Her main artistic focus is on still life painting in oils and acrylics, and in recent years has expanded her art practice to include printmaking working with etchings, aquatints and linocuts. Since 2000 she has regularly been a finalist and winner in prize and group exhibitions around Australia, and has presented solo exhibitions in Sydney, the Shoalhaven City Arts Centre and Jervis Bay.

TANYA STUBBLES is a construction artist working with found materials in an assemblage and painting context. She has exhibited in Sydney, Melbourne, Alice Springs, China and in her local Illawarra (South Coast NSW) region. She was a finalist in the 2008 Wynne Prize at the Art Gallery of NSW and has been short listed in numerous prestigious prizes. Over the past four years Tanya has experienced a rapid expansion and growth of the success of her work.

When Bungendore Wood Works Gallery opened its new, and current, Gallery complex in 1994 directly opposite the original site, the operating space for the Gallery increased by about 400 percent. Suddenly there was more gallery space than there were objects to fill it. This, combined with the availability of a significant amount of wall space, saw the Gallery’s beginnings as a presenter of fine visual arts.

The walls and panels surrounding the woodwork specific floor spaces were ideal areas for the exhibition of paintings, prints and other media of the visual arts. One of the first artists to display and sell her work here was Sydney printmaker and painter Pamela Griffith, and she continues as one of the major artists exhibiting at the Gallery.

Over the past twelve years the Gallery steadily raised its profile as a presenter of fine arts with significant Australian artists such as Blake and Wynne Prize winning painter David Voigt, prolific award winning master impressionist Ken Knight, oil painter Maynard Waters and a host of Canberra and NSW regional artists as well as many from Sydney and interstate whose works are regularly on display.

In January 2006 the Gallery presented a major exhibition of Indigenous Australian Desert Art from artists such as Kathleen Petyarre, Minnie Pwerle, Barbara Weir and George Ward Tjungurrayi, sealing the credibility of the Gallery in presenting fine arts to its 120,000 annual visitors.

Approaches from artists wanting to exhibit and sell their work in the Gallery are numerous and regular. The ability to present the work of many of these artists is now limited by the amount of wall-space on offer.

NEW – an exhibition of 5 artists new to the Gallery, is the first time that a number of individual artists approaching the Gallery have been invited to take part in a group exhibition in the Gallery’s Octagon ArtSpace. This exhibition specific space has been described by many artists as one of the finest in the country.

NEW presents the work of printmakers Matthew Ablitt and Tess Barker, photographer Paul Kowalski, painter Alison McKay and construction artist Tanya Stubbles in a mixed media group exhibition from April 24.

The exhibition affords the participating artists, and the Gallery, the chance to assess the viability of their work in the Bungendore Wood Works Gallery context and a wider commercial gallery marketplace. Approximately 10,000 visitors to the Gallery over the run of this exhibition will be able to view the works on offer. This provides a statistic rarely matched by Australian commercial galleries.

He gained his fine arts honours degree in London, UK and in 1998 won two prizes in the National Print Exhibition in that city. He has exhibited in Darwin, Melbourne and Sydney and well as serving residencies in a number of printing studios in the United Kingdom and Darwin, and is currently printing for the prestigous Griffith Studios in Sydney.

TESS BARKER recently completed a double degree in Teaching and Fine Art (Honours) at the University of Newcastle. ALISON MACKAY lives and works in the Jervis Bay area on the NSW south coast as a painter, photographer and writer. Her main artistic focus is on still life painting in oils and acrylics, and in recent years has expanded her art practice to include printmaking working with etchings, aquatints and linocuts. Since 2000 she has regularly been a finalist and winner in prize and group exhibitions around Australia, and has presented solo exhibitions in Sydney, the Shoalhaven City Arts Centre and Jervis Bay.

TANYA STUBBLES is a construction artist working with found materials in an assemblage and painting context. She has exhibited in Sydney, Melbourne, Alice Springs, China and in her local Illawarra (South Coast NSW) region. She was a finalist in the 2008 Wynne Prize at the Art Gallery of NSW and has been short listed in numerous prestigious prizes. Over the past four years Tanya has experienced a rapid expansion and growth of the success of her work.

When Bungendore Wood Works Gallery opened its new, and current, Gallery complex in 1994 directly opposite the original site, the operating space for the Gallery increased by about 400 percent. Suddenly there was more gallery space than there were objects to fill it. This, combined with the availability of a significant amount of wall space, saw the Gallery’s beginnings as a presenter of fine visual arts.

The walls and panels surrounding the woodwork specific floor spaces were ideal areas for the exhibition of paintings, prints and other media of the visual arts. One of the first artists to display and sell her work here was Sydney printmaker and painter Pamela Griffith, and she continues as one of the major artists exhibiting at the Gallery.

Over the past twelve years the Gallery steadily raised its profile as a presenter of fine arts with significant Australian artists such as Blake and Wynne Prize winning painter David Voigt, prolific award winning master impressionist Ken Knight, oil painter Maynard Waters and a host of Canberra and NSW regional artists as well as many from Sydney and interstate whose works are regularly on display.

In January 2006 the Gallery presented a major exhibition of Indigenous Australian Desert Art from artists such as Kathleen Petyarre, Minnie Pwerle, Barbara Weir and George Ward Tjungurrayi, sealing the credibility of the Gallery in presenting fine arts to its 120,000 annual visitors.

Approaches from artists wanting to exhibit and sell their work in the Gallery are numerous and regular. The ability to present the work of many of these artists is now limited by the amount of wall-space on offer.

NEW – an exhibition of 5 artists new to the Gallery, is the first time that a number of individual artists approaching the Gallery have been invited to take part in a group exhibition in the Gallery’s Octagon ArtSpace. This exhibition specific space has been described by many artists as one of the finest in the country.

NEW presents the work of printmakers Matthew Ablitt and Tess Barker, photographer Paul Kowalski, painter Alison McKay and construction artist Tanya Stubbles in a mixed media group exhibition from April 24.

The exhibition affords the participating artists, and the Gallery, the chance to assess the viability of their work in the Bungendore Wood Works Gallery context and a wider commercial gallery marketplace. Approximately 10,000 visitors to the Gallery over the run of this exhibition will be able to view the works on offer. This provides a statistic rarely matched by Australian commercial galleries.

Opening Saturday 24th April, 2010 at 3pm by Richard Morecroft, Photographer and former ABCTV Presenter.

The opening will be followed at 4.30pm in Café Woodworks with a talk by Richard Morecroft on his past and present life in the media, and the arts through his unique photographic representation of the landscape. MATTHEW ABLITT is a young printmaker who has recently made Australia his permanent home. He gained his fine arts honours degree in London, UK and in 1998 won two prizes in the National Print Exhibition in that city. He has exhibited in Darwin, Melbourne and Sydney and well as serving residencies in a number of printing studios in the United Kingdom and Darwin, and is currently printing for the prestigous Griffith Studios in Sydney.

TESS BARKER recently completed a double degree in Teaching and Fine Art (Honours) at the University of Newcastle. She is a printmaker working in linocut and is drawn towards the depiction of Australian flora and fauna. She had the opportunity to document the beauty of the Ku-ring-gai National Park while growing up in the Pittwater area of Sydney. Tess has worked and exhibited in galleries in Newcastle and Sydney and is currently a customer service representative for Bungendore Wood Works Gallery.

PAUL KOWALSKI is a Canberra born photographer specialising in the Australian landscape. Since 2006 he has been working professionally and works in the panoramic format using a special wide-format camera to capture an extensive range of images from locations that he describes as somewhat remote.
