Why a Gallery in Bungendore?
Artistic Director and founder, David Mac Laren, opened the Gallery in an historic building opposite the present Gallery in 1983.
“When I moved from New York City to Bungendore, I wanted a space to display my furniture as well as the work of other makers from the Region. This is where I wished to live and work. I believed that our gallery could prosper in a village setting. If we represent the best possible woodcraft in the best possible way, then people will seek us out. And they have.”
From Sydney Bungendore is approximately 2.5 hours by road or train from Sydney. Access to Bungendore is by the Federal Highway from Sydney and via Queanbeyan and Canberra by the Kings Highway leading to the NSW South Coast.
There is convenient parking available on-site and on-street.
